POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
General Qualifications
as defined by the EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: (A) Graduation of High School or GED, and three (3) years of stable verifiable work history, (B) Graduation of High School or GED with two (2) years active military duty with an Honorable Discharge. (C) Sixty (60) college hours from an accredited college or university with one (1) year of stable verifiable work history. (D) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
(A) Must possess a valid state issued driver's license with acceptable / insurable driving record. (B) Must be 21 years of age or older, and under 45 years of age at the time of employment. (C)

Requires a High School diploma or GED, with two (2) years of general clerical experience. Must not have ever been convicted by Federal, State, or any other Law Enforcement authorities for any violation of any Federal, State, County or Municipal Law, regulation or ordnance which may be a contraindication of a public safety position. Must pass an in-depth background and reference checks, and must be of good moral character. Prefer one (1) year experience in receiving and processing public service calls in law enforcement or fire agency. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a State Terminal Certification issued by the State of Oklahoma within six (6) months of hire date. Knowledge to operate computer aided dispatch 9-1-1 systems. Receive emergency service calls from the public requesting law enforcement, fir ambulance or other emergency service. Knowledge of basic office procedures, methods and computer equipment, general law enforcement codes, practice and methods, knowledge of basic principles and procedures of record keeping. Ability to perform routine clerical duties, type accurately at a speed necessary for successful job performance, communicate verbally and in writing, to handle stressful situations, to work various rotating shifts, sitting extended periods of time, and subject to call ins. Work closely with others in an office environment, sustained posture and intense attentiveness for prolonged periods, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and to follow all policy and procedures of the Department and the City. Prefer one (1) year of construction, property maintenance code enforcement, and law enforcement background. In addition, the ability to obtain property maintenance code certification within 12 months of employment. Performs inspections on single-family homes, apartment buildings and businesses to ensure compliance with applicable zoning and nuisance codes and ordinances. Duties include conducting research, issue notices of violations as necessary, respond to alleged violations, interview complainants and witnesses, take photographs of violations, oversees abatement and removal of vehicles, prepare case reports for court or other administrative procedures, testify in court, maintain records, and reports, and serves as a resource to other City Departments on zoning and performs other various related technical duties. Ability to read, interprets codes, ordinances, and writes clear and concise reports.
Requires: 1. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the coordination of training programs and activities 2. Experience in law enforcement 3. Possession of a CLEET General Instructors Certificate, and 4. Experience as a support staff for the organization and implementation of training programs and activities
Education: Equivalent to an Associates’ degree in data processing, report writing, business and/or records management, accounting, law enforcement, or criminal justice, plus 2 to 3 years experience in the personnel or training field with responsibility for research and preparation of reports, maintenance of complex manual and automated record keeping systems, participation in the coordination and scheduling of training programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of police operations is desirable. A Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
The City of Ardmore Parks and Recreation Department is seeking individuals interested in becoming a lifeguard at the Municipal Pool. Requires lifeguard certifications, and applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Preference is given to those with experience. Those interested who do not meet the certification requirement are still encouraged to apply. There will be certification classes available, and the Parks and Recreation department will assist in training those interested. The seasonal position will open Mid-May and will close around Mid-August.
Requires two (2) years of related experience. Prefer High School Diploma or GED, and a Commercial Driver's license (CDL), or must obtain said license within six (6) months from date of hire. Duties include sanitation collection services for commercial and residential accounts for the City, and to deliver sanitation to designated landfill site. Includes the maintaining and repair of sanitation dumpsters, replacement of faulty dumpsters as assigned, minor maintenance activities on sanitation heavy equipment, clean sanitation equipment, clean and maintain dumpster yard.
Prefers experience involving the installation, maintenance and repair of water treatment equipment and related systems, and a High School Diploma or GED. Performs functions like the inspection of all pumps, gauges, and wastewater treatment equipment for malfunctions or leaks; diagnose needed repairs; perform maintenance and repairs as needed; chemical test of water supplies; determine chemical needs of the water; calculate chemical dosages and add appropriate chemicals to water as needed; regular testing of equipment and machinery to maintain quality assurance and high performance; transfer sludge from primary to secondary digester as needed; construct and maintain a variety of reports, logs, meters, and charts; address customer concerns and problems and provide responses, etc..
Requires two (2) years related experience with a High School Diploma or GED. Performs semi-skilled maintenance work with various street measuring, layout, lettering, trouble shooting, making, painting, replacement of signage, spraying, striping, traffic sign-signal maintenance, testing, repair, including lamps, bulbs, poles, base, mast arms and light fixtures installation and replacement, along with other related tasks.
The City of Ardmore is looking for an individual with experience in grant writing and administration.
YOU WILL NEED: Education and/or Experience: Five (5) years office/clerical experience. Prefer three years grant writing experience as well as accounting experience: Prefer two year Technical or Associate’s Degree with emphasis in grant writing.
Qualifications: Candidate must have exceptional clerical and accounting skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels, assertive, excellent time management and follow up skills, attentive to details, and accuracy. This position will be responsible for all phases of contracts and grants administration.
